All Ships & Crew must 'play' within the Letter & Spirit of the SCA; including maintaining a persona for the Ship & Crew that is pre-17th century, as defined by Corpora, at all SCA events including wars.
Each ship should show Service, Art, and Prowess, which will form the basis of acquiring tokens.
Although it is assumed that the primary form used is rapier, all forms of combat that each Ship's crew is proficient in can be used for ship-to-ship battles, as agreed upon by the involved ships.
All salvage tokens will be provided by the Barony of Calafia.
The following various "Pieces of 8" denominations will be provided: 1, 2, 4 & 8.
Counterfeiting tokens or outright theft is verboten; resulting in fines and/or loss of status for the ship, up to removal from the game.
Non-crew may wind up with tokens, which can be bartered or traded in kind.
Tokens may be gambled away at a structured agreed-upon gaming establishment.
Each ship determines how to control and distribute their Salvage Tokens to its crew.
The Crown & Barony can reward, tax or fine whenever they wish. This is part of the game.
The Baron & Baroness of Calafia will work with the event stewards for Calafian events to provide tokens to be given away at these events.
The amount of tokens available at each event will vary, but should be roughly 1 token per 20 attendees, based on estimated attendance.
There will be a special display at Winter Arts for Ship Entries. Each Ship can enter a single nautical-based arts display that the crew has created, which will have a separate 'Populous' vote. The winner will receive the final cache of Salvage Tokens for the year to be added to their total.
The Baron & Baroness of Calafia may provide or reward tokens at non-Calafian events as they deem fit.
The Ship's Captain (or envoy) must inform the Baron of Calafia, or his representative, of any Service, Teaching or Arts that the crew has performed, in order to receive tokens.
The Baron of Calafia is the final interpreter of Rules for this game.
