This contest will run from Winter Arts (Calafia Yule) of one year until the Winter Arts of the following year. The crew of the various ships will be rewarded with 'Salvage Tokens' during SCA events for a variety of reasons, such as service, arts, teaching, etc. At the end of the contest, the ship that returns with the most 'Salvage' will become the Calafia Baronial Flagship. That ship will be given the Flagship banner that is the regalia, and can fly the flag at any SCA event during the year, and must return the flag at Winter Arts when the year is done. NOTES: The Salvage Tokens have NO value outside of this game, and are forbidden by the Rules of this game to be used in place of 'real money'. This is in keeping with Corpora Corporate Polices for the SCA; section XI "Policy on Coinage & Currency", which reads in part: "…it is not the policy of the SCA, Inc. to endorse or require the acceptance of privately minted coinage or other tokens at SCA-sanctioned events. The SCA, Inc. or its branches shall not require the acceptance of privately minted coinage or other tokens as payment for any goods or services at any SCA-sanctioned events. Any such transactions may be conducted at the discretion of the individuals involved, as with any other barter transaction…" A Yahoo Group will be set up, and the various ships will be allowed access to help foster additional communications between the ships, if needed.
